.au Domain Name Registry
The design and build of the .au Registry System commenced after successfully responding to the .au Domain Administrations (auDA) tender to build a Domain Name Registry. The .au Domain Name Registry complies with the auDA's technical specifications and, where possible, auDA policy has been automated. Key to the operation of the system since 2002 are the primary DNS servers, which were designed with real time DNS provisioning, making this one of the only major Domain Name Registry Systems to provide this service.
Our philosophy of continual improvement has lead to ongoing refinements and enhancements, such as full implementation of EPP v1.0 in 2006, making ours one of the first Registry Systems in the world to go live with this version of the protocol. The .au Registry System currently processes in excess of 2.2 million EPP transactions per day with an average elapsed time of 0.0157 seconds, and over 300,000 WhoIs queries per day.
